are no words to describe this enchanting region. With our
itinerary you will discover the two most important cities of Puglia: Bustling Bari, and lovely Lecce. In Bari , a medieval
town, you will plunge into the Middle-ages while strolling
through the cobbled alleys of the historical centre; whereas in
Lecce, a fine example of Baroque architecture, you can admire
its charming churches and the crystal-clear sea of the fishing
villages nearby.

DAY 1: Bari

DAY 2: Bari

Sightseeing-tour in the medieval centre of the city with
an English speaking guide, who will lead you through the
cobbled stone alleys to relive Puglia's ancient times. See the majestic Cathedral, recently
restored, as well as the Basilica of Saint Nicolas;
superb examples of Apulian Romanesque architecture.

Lunch
at the restaurant "Marcaurelio" : sample local dishes washed down with
delicious wines from our vineyards.

After
lunch, coffee in one of the most prestigious bars:
Terrazza Venezia.

Guided
afternoon tour of the castle built by Frederich II of Swabia

DAY 3: Bari – Alberobello – Sammichele di Bari
– Bari
ALBEROBELLO:

A UNESCO world heritage site, enjoy a guided tour of this quaint
town, famous for its “trulli”- cone shaped houses

An mid
morning culinary delight awaits you in Alberobello in the
restaurant "Il poeta contadino" will take you through the necessary steps to prepare
simple but delicious local dishes.

After
this cooking lesson, you will have ample time to sample
the culinary delights.
GROTTE DI CASTELLANA:
These grottos mark an ancient
route formed by an underground river. Nowadays a famous and
large cave complex
SAMMICHELE DI BARI:
A little farming village
situated in the Murgia (complex of hills in Apulia). Here you
can try “zampina”, a spiral shaped grilled beef sausage.

DAY 4: Bari – Castel del Monte – Trani – Bari

CASTEL
DEL MONTE:
Yet another UNESCO world
heritage site, in Apulia tour the Romanesque castle, built by Friederick II of Swabia as a hunting lodge.
-
The
excursion includes Barletta
and its “cantina della disfida”
- the site of a famous duel during the French Spanish war of 1503.
-
Lunch
of local fish dishes at the typical restaurant "Il
Valentino".
-
Afternoon transfer to Trani.
TRANI:
A port offering a wonderful
example of Romanesque architecture with its cathedral soaring
above Trani’s coastline.

DAY 5: Bari-Ostuni-Lecce

OSTUNI:
Situated in the Murgia hills,
it’s a wonderful example of a Mediterranean “whitewashed town” because of its whitewashed historical centre
and cobbled streets

Arrival
in Ostuni and sightseeing tour of marvellous land marks such
as the picturesque “S. Maria
Maddalena’s church”,
the beautiful “Palazzo ducale”
and the “Santuario
di S. Biagio and Sant'Oronzo”.

After
lunch at the nice farmhouse "Il Frantoio" enjoy a leisurely stroll through Ostuni and perhaps
find time for shopping.

Late
afternoon departure to Lecce.

Arrival
in the evening. Dinner at the hotel. Free evening.

6: Lecce

LECCE:
It’s called “Baroque Florence”
because of the spectacular architectural style of its buildings.
OTRANTO:

This is the most Italy’s
easternly town. It’s an important political, cultural and
business centre.

Leuca-Gallipoli-Lecce |

SANTA MARIA DI LEUCA:
Famous for its marvellous
“Capo”, an attractive location
which divides the Ionian sea from the Adriatic.
A magical resort town of the Magna Grecia.

DAY 8: Lecce-Brindisi
